The ARW Mobile Food Pantry

Fighting Hunger, One Mile at a Time

The American Rescue Workers Mobile Food Pantry is a vital initiative aimed at bringing nutritious food directly to underserved people. With food insecurity affecting thousands of families in our region, this mobile pantry ensures that fresh and essential food items reach those who need them most. By contributing to this initiative, you become a partner in the fight against hunger.

Help Us Bring Food & Hope To Those Who Need It Most

At American Rescue Workers, we believe that no one should go hungry. That’s why we’re working to launch our Mobile Food Pantry in September 2025 - but we need your help to make it happen. With enough funding, including construction costs, we can bring nutritious food directly to those who need it most in their communities.

Current Operations

For over 90 years, we have fed the hungry and sheltered those needing a place to rest their head. Our current food pantry operations serve, on average, 1,000 families per month. Even with that – there is still an unmet need – especially those who lack adequate transportation or have other barriers to get to our fixed operation on Bridge Street. Last year, we received a vehicle donation - a blessing to our prayers, that will allow us to provide this critical resource and service, with only minor construction and upgrades.

Our Plan

In our first year, we’ll focus on serving the greater Williamsport area, specifically reaching veterans, pregnant women, and seniors—populations at high risk for food insecurity. The Mobile Food Pantry will operate three days per week, delivering fresh produce, proteins, pantry staples, and essential items to those who struggle to access traditional food pantries.

To make this possible, we will also hire a Mobile Food Pantry Manager who will oversee operations, including volunteers, coordinate orders and distributions to ensure that every visit makes an impact.

Why It Matters

  • Bringing Food to the People – Many of our neighbors face transportation and mobility challenges that make it difficult to reach food assistance programs.
  • Emergency Food Relief – When unexpected hardships arise, we’ll be there with immediate support.
  • Targeted Outreach – By focusing on veterans, expectant mothers, and seniors, we can make a significant impact on those most in need.

How You Can Help

We need your support to get this program on the road. Your donation will help cover food, fuel, construction costs, and the salary for our Mobile Pantry Manager.

  • $35 – Provides a 3-day food supply for a veteran or senior in need.
  • $50 – Fills our gas tank for one visit
  • $65 – Feeds a family of four for three days.
  • $100 – Helps stock the Mobile Food Pantry for a community visit.
  • $175 – Supports the pantry’s outreach efforts for a week.

With your help, we can launch the Mobile Food Pantry and ensure that no one in our community goes hungry.
